The Church of Scientology has now educated every media outlet and the Internet on its criminal playbook.

Yeh, that will help its PR. :duh:

Poor David Evans just opened a can of worms. Once the internet is through with him, he'll need to go on a sabbatical...perhaps in the SO? Then he'll find out for himself just how lush the accommodations really are.

Scn doesn't really understand that their threats are now public domain almost instantly. They really need to invent a course on how to deal in the electronic age.

Anyone know about this David Evans? Don't see much other than a google profile and a completion list.
Curious.

David Evans apparently doesn't think much of the book "Inside Scientology: The Story of America’s Most Secretive Religion."

"I have listened to over 2000 lectures by L. Ron Hubbard and read at least 500,000 words. I've taken many courses and received counselling. I know the organizations well, and I know hundreds of Scientologists. I was 19 when I started reading L. Ron Hubbard's books, I'm now 54. I think this qualifies me as an authority on the subject."

Same guy? Maybe.

42 other commenters try to go toe-to-toe with him and he tries to block many of them. (You can show posts anyway.)

How to get threatened by Scientologists

(excerpt)

Part of being an opinion writer on the Internet in 2015 is hearing regularly from folks who think your opinions are garbage. It’s no one’s idea of fun, but it’s part of the job you take on when you put your opinions in writing for everyone to see. It’s fine. But after Monday’s post about the documentary Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, the responses were deeply affecting. I’ve heard from almost a dozen former members of Scientology whose lives were turned upside-down when they left the church, and many more who were shocked to hear about the lengths Scientologists will go to in order to punish those who question its tenets from within.

As I wrote in the piece on Monday, one of the central characteristics of a cult is its unwillingness to ask critical questions of itself. And if it won’t ask those questions from within, it’s not likely to take kindly to people asking those questions from the outside. It wasn’t long before I got an email from a Scientologist named Dave Evans with the subject line “Remarkable.” That’s sarcasm, in case you’re wondering. So here, in three easy steps, is how to get threatened by a Scientologist.

WoW. Standard fare from the "Cult."

Threats, intimidation....and attempted "enforcement..." ie. "strong arming...probably to come.

Thanks

Hmm. You think he'd have got through them by now. Maybe he shouldn't be clearing all the definitions in the large OED?

What a stupid ass to now have hostile engagement with a faith based publication and writer. Even when Scientology is being excoriated, they can normally count on other religions to defend them, even if meekly, because they can see themselves in Scientology's shoes. They don't want their first amendment rights trampled on so they will allow the stench of Scientology to permeate their worlds so they can stand up for their own rights.

In this, he burns that bridge too. I wonder if this is authorized? They are really losing it.

You back a wild animal into a corner...he gonna bite.

I don't think David Evans has the slightest idea of what happens when a few million Internet nerds with time on their hands, decide to take an interest in some particular person...

His November 20, 2013 comment about a Co$ television ad uploaded to YouTube was: "Beautiful".

Yep, he's deceived and brainwashed.

I'd rather help him out of that - if possible - than crush him for being as foolish as many of us also were. :)

He's providing some amusement, but seems not to be doing any real harm.
