Yes you're right they just can't help themselves. They think they're right and that the public will respect that, they really have no idea how odd they look whatever they do. They are a group that prefers desk thumping aggression to pleasantly getting on with their jobs. I think it's a smokescreen for the whales and true believers. Their magazine is empty and they don't have a spare. Why are they announcing that they are going after Theroux, but not Gibney? Because they've got squat on either, but they still have a chance at intimidating Theroux's employers.

The Demented Martinet needs to assure the faithful he's making it go right, but there isn't any activity he can engage in to do that at the moment. So he shifts the onus onto a project that we all, based on a looooooong track record, know is going to take years. He can claim it's "in the works", then as the immediate response dies down, he can shift the blame for everything onto those downstat cocksuckers who are delaying the KCET renovation.

Never mind that Gold has perfectly good facilities right now.

This is a triple win for DM: he gets to blame someone else for his misfortunes, he gets some breathing room to claim action while deciding what he's really going to do, and he gets a new reg cycle for when the KCET renovations inevitably fall behind schedule.

They have used their scare tactics and threats of court action before against Aunty BBC, and they backed down, that was in the deep dark past. I don't feel anyone intimidated by them now, yes at one time it worked, but those days are long gone. The BBC is a world player, it can afford lawyers, and the cult's behaviour is understood now. A few pathetic obviously false documentaries about Louis being in a gay porn film (fully clothed) will hardly make the church any friends apart from in ISIS, and they would not like the churches affiliations with what they would think of as an evil squirrel group (NOI). Scientologists really need to sit around and wait for the end.
