Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief is to screen at the NZ International Film Festival (commencing 16 July).
From the preliminary research coming in from the Defrocked Apostates Research Unit (DARU), the film will be screening in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. DARU have been unable to work out dates/venues at this stage (they are cooking dinner and struggling with the multi-tasking aspect required to research and make a perfect cheese sauce.).
Some quotes from Toby Manhire in his review on the NZIFF site:

I may - or may not - be attending. It’s a secret. :wink2:

The Church of Scientology hates this film.
The courage of the apostates who agreed to blow the whistle on camera can hardly be overstated.
Beyond the fascination and kookiness of the self-help parables, e-meters and alien emperor foundation myth, Going Clear paints a chilling picture – all of it denied by the Scientologists – of a ‘church’ that lavishes riches on its favourites and metes brutality upon dissenters and their families.
