Chuck Beatty is not worried about OSA, and Chuck will figure out if Ivan is for real. I sent him the link to this thread and Ivans story.

It is pretty hard to understand the desperation and confusion of a person who has spent years in scientology and especially the RPF cut off from the real world. Chuck spent 7 years on the RPF and fully understands and will help this guy.

Ivan, I sent you a PM (private message) You can get it by clicking the "notifications" box in the upper right hand corner.

Ivan, I can probably track down the whereabouts of your ex and her parents if you PM me the details you do have on her family, like the parents names.

additionally: You were held against your will. This is human trafficking. I suggest you discuss this with Chuck Beatty, who can get you you in contact with lawyers who are working on such cases in CA and hook you up with a local immigration assistance group, as they may be able to locate your wife and help with your immigration situation.

    Good job, LB. :)

  4. I'm glad you're out!

Hi Ivan! I'm glad you posted here asking for help, I'm sure you will get some.
Congratulations on having the courage to get free, a wonderful new life awaits you!

I suggest you contact the local office of The Salvation Army or the Red Cross, or both. The are non-profit groups that give assistance to people in your situation. One of the things that they do is to help folk locate and contact their family members. They will not charge you for this service.

You can also call Adult Protective Services for the county that you are in, they often will provide transportation vouchers for bus or train fare to help you connect with family. Be sure to explain about the Scientology RPF. THey may be able to provide some other assistance, too.

Your daughter or wife can be found via their social security numbers, if you still have the custody paperwork.

Please keep in touch with us via this thread, and pms, let us know how things are going and how we may help you. :)

Yes. BTW, when I look back at my post, it looks a bit abrupt.
I was just emphasing the illegality of the COS keeping your pasport from you. I see you edited your original post too; I was a bit worried that it could have been used against you. I did not give you any numbers. I guess you were referring to the number/s Thetanic or other posters gave you.

What is the NHTRC’s National Hotline Number?

    1-888-3737-888
is the number to call to reach the National Human Trafficking Resource Center.

What is the NHTRC’s National Website?

    * National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC)

Who Can Call the National Human Trafficking Resource Center?

The NHTRC is equipped to handle calls from all regions of the United States from a wide range of callers including potential trafficking victims, community members, law enforcement agents, medical professionals, legal professionals, researchers, students, and policy-makers. Based on the past history of calls into the national hotline, we know that calls most frequently occur for the purposes of tips about potential trafficking situations, questions about human trafficking, training and technical assistance requests, emergency crisis response situations involving potential victims, and general information about how to get involved in the anti-trafficking movement.

How Does the National Human Trafficking Resource Center Respond to Calls?

The NHTRC is available to answer calls from anywhere in the country, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year. Urgent requests are processed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Non-urgent requests are processed primarily between the hours of 9am and 9pm EST, Monday through Friday, during an extended business week. If a non-urgent request comes in after 9pm EST, on the weekend, or on a holiday, a message will be taken by the call specialist on duty, and a full-time program staff will respond to the request within one business day or, in the case of holidays, on the next business day. A chart detailing the available services of the NHTRC is available below:

    Available Services

If you aren't quickly able to get in touch with Chuck Beatty through the numbers people have listed above, then there are plenty of other ways to get good help.

The Catholic Church - they will give you sanctuary (a safe harbor) if you're worried about being recaptured by OSA. They will also make sure you are warm and fed.

The Salvation Army - likewise, they will help you with emergency needs.

Your embassy - NZ? - If you explain you have escaped from Scientology, they should help you get sorted. You own your passport. You cannot steal what you own, so you are okay there.

    You will be okay, Ivan.

My advice would be not to trust people on this site who send you private messages unless several people here tell you they are trustworthy. I know that LadyBird has contacted you. She is trustworthy. But beware of others. If in doubt, post a message and ask, or post in the chat box.

If you have internet access, try signing up for Facebook (www.facebook.com) and doing a search using your ex-wife's name. Most people put up a profile picture, so you can look through the pictures to see if you can find her.
Most young people in the US have a Facebook account and best of all it is free. You can e-mail her through Facebook.

You can also try just searching for her name online, although if she has remarried that will complicate things.

Since you have internet access, there are a couple ways you can make money online legitimately here and there. Writing for websites and whatnot. Pay isn't great and I doubt you could live on it with only occasional access, but every little bit helps.

    Ivan,

I hope by now you've contacted Chuck Beatty and are on the way to resolving your situation. He has helped many, many others, and is close to where you are, so YES he is your best contact.

You can read Chuck's history in his many posts on the Operation Clambake site if you want to learn a little about him. Search "Operation Clambake" and that will give you the link.

Meanwhile, I get from your original post that you've been in the Sea Org and confined to the world of scientology for years, perhaps most of your life, and since you are Russian you may know very little about life in the USA as it is outside of scientology.

You may have been told many things about the bad and dangerous life in this country in the "wog" world. Most of that is NOT TRUE!

And you may have been told by people in the Sea Org that you are some kind of "criminal" for whatever it was that got you put on the RPF, and that terrible things will happen to you if you leave. Also NOT TRUE!

People in the USA who are outside of scientology are likely to act toward you in one of two ways:

    1) if they know a little about your situation (no job, no home, trying to find family) they will be kind and helpful and will do what they can for you. This is especially true of people from various churches, Salvation Army being one of the most well-known for helping people in your situation.

Since you are staying in a men's shelter, you've probably already found some of that kindness.

    OR

    2) they are too wrapped up in their own problems and concerns to notice you. They don't care about your 2D history, they don't care where you came from or what you did or did not do in the past, they don't care if you are "legal" in this country or not.

Except possibly for the Sea Org people, there are no "authorities" trying to find you. Our police and other authorities are much too busy with crimes of violence and giving traffic tickets to raise money to be concerned with someone like you in your situation -- so if that was worrying you, try and relax.

I don't know your situation as far as immigration, but I will tell you that there are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people who are in this country "illegally," without proper papers. Many have been here for many, many years -- most of their lives -- blending in to our society, living and working (and earning the money they need to live) and going about their lives.

I hope you find Charlotte, soon. BUT it might take awhile. So take steps to care for yourself first. Get to know some of the people at the shelter where you are staying, ask them about getting work so you can earn some money and be not so desperate.

It is likely that you can find work that is much more pleasant than whatever you did on the RPF, and that it pays much, much more than you ever earned in the Sea Org!

Do be cautious, but try and relax a bit. Don't be afraid to get to know some people outside of scientology -- there are many, many people out here in the world who can help you find a job, a place to stay, and the information you need to make your way in this world and find your family.

If I were not on the far side of this big country from where you are now, I'd drive down to that shelter and pick you up and bring you to my home right now! and there are many other people willing to do the same, so have hope.

Good luck to you -- I know you'll be ok.

    hi,I'm from Russia too!

Hi. I live not far from you. You know what you can do?Go to child support enforsment (nearest where you live) and tell them that you want to start
paying child support but you are not sure if baby is yours. Tell them baby's
date of birth, all information about the mother and her last known adress.
Ask them to help you in locating them so you can pay your obligations.
(They will not make you to pay on the spot.If you will say you are not
sure you are the father, they will find her and send you to do paternity test.)
You don't really have to do it,but at least you will know where they are at.
