    LOL. Fair enough!

I think it's been gotten into all orgs by now. You know how they are about compliance on these brilliant ideas. :)

Computerising it all seems to be *the* strategy when it comes to eliminating that pesky human element one sometimes encounters in certain Course Admins and D of Ts.

    Yes.

Next step is computerised public, maybe some of those new Japanese robot hotties. They could have a whole herd of them locked in overnight being regged and they wouldn't complain at all. Full courserooms. Full auditing rooms. Man, they could have power stats for years! I'd maybe give them a bulk discount rate on PaulsRobot services too. :D

  3. Star Trek costumes timeless !!!

Let’s not forget that LRH wrote all of these films 40 years ago and it is required that they follow his exact instructions regarding how they are shot including the sets, props, talent, make-up and costumes.

In the first few rounds, these "timeless costumes" were interpreted as Star Trek style outfits for the staff and public. Either on Gilligan's Island or some African village and we can only :roflmao:

The only thing that will remain timeless about the movie will be the threat of them getting kicked out of countries! :D

  4. Africa, huh?

Thank you for those thoughts, ideas and input, everyone...I was hoping this would spark some creative discussion! :coolwink:

And thanks to all who have gotten onto my comm lines and are sharing data, pictures, vids etc. with me...I don't get out much, and I really appreciate it! You all know who you are, thank you for including me! :D :happydance:

I guess the location could be for an African style village of some sort...I was thinking it looked more like a POW camp in the South Pacific somewhere...

Maybe they just got in trouble last fall for illegal outdoor fires while burning mounds of cut off palm fronds, and had to put them to good use as palapas (a shaded shelter here in the desert) ? :confused2:

I just hope they are not concocting a "shore story" about shooting a film in some kind of a primitive camp, and making all those poor souls on the RPF "play" extras by living there! :omg: I think it was the water tanks that gave me the heebie jeebies about these pictures! Very labor campesque.

One concern I have is that they seem to be building in a flood plain, very close to the San Jacinto river, and on or near a Riverside County multi-species habitat cell, which is protected land set aside as "open space" habitat for endangered, threatened and species of special concern in California.

Does anybody know if they got any building permits for these cabanas? :) Their location is very strange.

However, it does add to the "shore story" (lie) for the locals that Int Base is only a harmless film production studio, Golden Era Productions, as they are visible from the highway as is the pirate ship, etc...

    ...and on that note!!!

  5. Would anyone care to comment?

In this morning's (July 12, 2010) Press Enterprise newspaper (Riverside, Ca.) there appeared the following letter to the Editor:

    "Praise Group's Efforts

The Golden Era Productions facility is doing a beautiful job in landscaping the stretch across its facility in San Jacinto and organizing numerous charitable events at its gold course to help the community. It deserves our respect and appreciation.

From what I can see in the photos, that cluster of "huts" appears to be an exact reproduction of the exterior set they built previously for the Technical Training Film "EM5 - Checklist for Setting Up A Session". I well recall the opening helicopter and crane shots in the original representing Hubbard himself flying in via helicopter to handle this auditor (played by Larry Anderson). The size, exterior appearance and layout of these "huts" look substantially identical to what I saw in the film.

Other than whatever code violations may have been involved in grading the site, there is absolutely nothing sinister about an actual film company building an outdoor set for a reshoot of scenes for a movie! As a temporary set, not intended for actual occupancy, they don't have to worry about building codes. They might have to satisfy the Fire Marshall that the set is not going to burn down, but even that is not unusual for production companies.

Tommy Davis himself was recorded on audio tape trying to talk Larry out of leaving and raised the issue of having to reshoot all the films Larry was in as "harm" he would be doing to C of $. It is no secret that several of these Tech Training Films have already been reshot or edited to remove people who had left Co$.

There really is no need to try and make something else out of this, guy.

(The funny thing about this picture is the DM head is off a pic of him in almost exactly the same pose! But, since I needed the Gilligan body, I decapitated COB.

Then I recapitated him onto Gilligan.

Nice Photoshop, but shame on you all for sullying the memory of Bob Denver's loveable, bumbling character who hadn't even the tiniest trace of malice in his body.

*tinfoil on* Wonder who did the water work studies for Gold Base?

*tinfoil off* Just a happy neighbour in the Gillman/Sobab Hot Springs area.

R/E African movie set? Actor playing Hubbard flies in and saves wayward African villager-wogs from certain destruction by bringing them 'the tech'. Sordid scenes of auditing ensue followed by saved village making Lron their king and guru, everyone buys a book and goes on the hook for a majical box of their own. Cue happy dancing scene.

    Hey, can I ask...

Isn't Gilligan's Island that story about people who are trapped somewhere and they're trying to get out but they never get out?

    yup!

It sure is. In a lot of the episodes, a means for escape seems to be in the works, but it is goofed up by Gilligan somehow. There is definitely a Gilligans Island parody that can be worked out about the int base, with DM as Gilligan and Heber as Thurston Howell. Not sure who would be the professor, Ginger, MaryAnn, or the skipper. Could be a fun thing. Was thinking of a song parody as well.

Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful con.
That started with a self-help book
    Written by L. Ron

The book was a bloated load of crap
    But some were taken in,
When their minds fell into the trap
They called it all a win

    Abuses started getting rough
    Some minions soon were tossed
Right overboard from Ron’s own ship
    And sometimes lives were lost.

The cult set ground on the shore of poor Clearwater Florida
    With Miscavige
    Ron Hubbard too,
    Heber Jentsch, and his wife,
A movie star, Ken Moxon and
    Mary Ann [deMoss]
    Here in Clearwater!

This has legs. I love the song lyrics posted here, too. Would work great at raids, especially with pictures.

  19. Sandstorm near Gilligan's island!

    This just in via email:

"Pictures taken yesterday about a mile away from Gold Base. This valley often whips up sandstorms.

The Air Quality Management is very strict about doing things right whenever land grading is involved. Before grading, they're supposed to install "silt screens" around the property to be graded and water sprayers are to be used as the work is being done to prevent dust storms.

Of course, because the staff is so busy clearing the planet, no such precautions were taken. This picture was taken on Nov 16 while they were grading Gilligan's island. Note the absence of silt screens, water sprays, etc.

Apparently the particulate level [air pollution] yesterday was so high that people could feel the grit in their eyeballs. [My editorial comment: Gasp, Cough, Choke!! Those poor people who have to work, and sleep, outdoors!]

Note the dust in the background:

Gilligan's island was free of dust because they had water sprinklers going:

Note the strength of that structure! Seems overdone for a thatch roof.
They told Code Enforcement that these buildings will be torn down in six weeks. Wanna bet anybody?

They landscaped a beautiful dry creek bed on the opposite side of the road."

Me again- on the news this morning they said that yesterday there were 22 brushfires caused by lightening strikes in and around the Hemet Valley area, three of them big enough to still be not under control and a concern to nearby residents, threatening homes... there's a lot of big open space out there, far spread apart homes and a lot of brush. Hope everybody is safe.

Just a thought...is there a fire or other disaster evacuation plan for Int Base filed with the state fire marshal? Considering they are a working facility with dormitories (and now African huts:eyeroll:) to house their staff, I think state law requires this, just as if this were a school or other facility. Another good reason not to close down Gilman Hot Springs road, if they ever need to evacuate people quickly. They are supposed to have their own fire marshal, "volunteer" fire department, etc.

If you got "overboarded" in this kind of dust storm, you would arise not a better thetan, but a big sandy mudball! Eeewwww!

Also, it's interesting that in these pictures you can see the green line of vegetation just behind the Gillianesque film set, that's the riverine habitat of the San Jacinto river, which runs right through Int Base and is protected by both federal and state laws in addition to county ordinances... It's hard to tell from this angle if they are actually within the set back mandated by state water quality control laws. In pictures and vids, distance gets compacted due to foreshortening, so maybe they are not as close to the river as they seem to be. It would be really nice to see a current aerial view. I mention this because people who come from really wet and lush climates often don't recognize our wetlands! (Seeps, streams, springs, vernal pools, creeks and rivers) I hear "Where's the river?" a lot! :D
