The Scientology word for spirit is "thetan."

It's an inside joke, amongst the Scientology deep inner circle, that "thetan" is a dark practical joke by Hubbard. The original American pronunciation of "thetan" is "Satan with a lisp."

    Self proclaimed "Beast 666"

Aleister Crowley's deep influence on Hubbard during the formative stages of Scientology is undeniable.

The parallels between many of Scientology's key basics and Crowley's ideas are numerous.

A secular (edit: "secular" bolded and enlarged for emphasis) definition of Satanism would be, the rejection of a higher power and the glorification of oneself as a "god," a "god" above good and evil. It does not need to be "religious" in meaning. It's about power, elitism, amorality, and selfishness.

A while back I read an off the record account of a conversation of a Scientology attorney and another. They said, matter of factly, that, of course, they were Satanists.

    Is this being "OT"?

Scientology has no Satan in it at all. Calling something "Satanism" that has no Satan in it makes about as much sense as calling something "Christianity" that has no Christ.

I am at the opposite spectrum of the Sneakster.

Actually I belong to people, who after years of researches about LRH his life, affirmations, deeds, experimentations, (including black magic involvement and deep interest into mind mannipulation and brainswashing, )
believe Scientology IS satanic by it's true nature and , in spite of a self-improovemet and spiritual philosophy disguise, belong into the category of evil systems of mins manipulation and behavioral reshaping (slaves).

This has been a natural conclusion according to facts, human being abuse and real outome of $cientology in people's lives = Enslavement in all forms and manners = despair , dellusion and lonelynesss.

All of what it is supposed (said and written) to produce as results are a total lie and illusion. When one realizes it, it's often after he finds himself broken.

Thus I don't know if it is satanic, but it is certainly EVIL.

I don't know enough about Satanism to be able to answer the question in the thread title. But a year or two after leaving the CoS during a time I still considered myself a Scientologist, I got to know one of my neighbors and became friendly with him. He was very much a fan of Crowley and Satanism. When he looked through a number of my Scientology books I had back then and claimed similarities between Scientology, Crowley, and Satanism, I thought it was complete BS. But then he showed me some things in The Satanic Bible I did see some things in common. For one thing I saw similarities in characteristics between a "Suppressive Person" and a "Psychic Vampire" (a term use in the Satanic Bible).

Most of Scientology's scales, its stated goal of creating a multiplicity of infinite minds, and much of its symbolism, including the Scientology symbol, the "S with the Double Triangle," comes from Crowley.

Its "four conditions of existence" (as-isness, alter-isness, is-ness, and not is-ness) derive from the tetragrammaton, the four letters of the "name" (the commands/postulates) of creation.

And so much more, including many processes adopted by Scientology, as well as its The Factors and even ARC.

Hubbard began Scientology in the first PDC lecture by (covertly) "getting his withhold off," by joking - in a nonseqitor statement - that he was the "Prince of Darkness."

Thirty years later he said he was fulfilling the role of Lucifer.

Scientology mocks the traditional God. (The creation of ancient extraterrestrial psychiatrists)

It promises a person superman powers and immortality and makes him a slave instead.

If that's not Satanic what is?

I think that Crowley was being sarcastic toward Christians when he said he was 666.

Actually, 666 (or 616) was gematria used to identify a particular person in Revelation so that the writer would not be hunted down and prosecuted for actually naming Nero Kaisor (616 in minority texts) or Neron Kaisor (666 in majority texts).

Why the difference? Because before the invention of the printing press all copies were done by-hand and scribes would "correct" things when they thought there was an error in the text. So, looking at the gematria difference, it seems that some ancient scribes "knew" who this person was.

Satanic in the sense of being evil, yes. In the sense of having anything to do with Satan, no.

You don't need Satan to be evil any more than you need God to be good.

I think -- based on my limited human understanding -- that God and Satan are mythological constructs, not actual beings.

I pretty well agree. The archetypes can be useful metaphors or place holders for things we don't deeply and fully understand. Scientology the knowing how to know is such a fraud as it pretty well only provides Hubbard's spew and that is very lacking and so often a misdirection. It certainly failed as a tool or path to enlightenment of the benevolent kind.
The few OTVIII's I have known are very flawed in either their behaviours or attitudes and are very trapped in an LRH or Ron's Org delusion. Or they eventually realized the fraud embedded within the study and got out and left it all behind. The latter had to use their own innate wits or wits developed through experiences to free themselves from the bad inherent in scientology and instead draw upon their good within their character to move on.

Satanism is essentially demonology, isn't it?

The concept being that there are supernatural beings, some of which are very malevolent and try to take over people with Satan being the uber demon.

How is the concept of Body Thetans and Xenu not just another Satan/Demonology belief system complete with ceremonial exorcism?

Christianity embraces the concept of Satan right? So Christians believe in supernatural beings and the uber bad being. So you could say Christians are Satanists except they don't follow Satan - it's just integral to their belief. Who and what do Scientologists follow? That seems to be the main distinction. Even in 1952 Hubbard was lecturing about and channeling disembodied "Targs" in real time. The people in the audience would have been transitioning between the non-demon based concepts of Dianetics and the demon based concepts of Scientology. So now instead of psychological improvement they are pursuing spiritual improvement and the idea of spirit, spiritual powers and immortality become the "stable datum" of your thinking. Using that stable datum, or any supernatural spiritual concept as the foundation for all your other rational has the potential to expand your acceptance of possibilities to virtually every imaginable scenario. And that is where we find Scientologists - accepting and believing everything Hubbard tells them.

So I'm going to say, yes, I think Scientology is essentially satanism in that it teaches demonology, that there can be uber demons and because it teaches that anything is OK in the name of the greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics - which is ultimately going to be Hubbard and Scientology. And right there you have your uber demon. Maybe it's not in a Christian context but in principle it's the same.

It's about good and evil and being controlled or free to pursue your own destiny.

You know, the more I think about the 8 Dynamics and the idea that we are supposed to be "Pan-Determined" or fully responsible across all the dynamics - the more I think that is a lot of BS. Hubbard manipulated people's good intentions and willingness to help. You do that by appealing to their sense of responsibility. Once you get them on board with the idea that they should be responsible for everything then they are bad or degraded if they don't go along with your sense of priorities. Scientologists try to be "Self-Determined", and they try to be "Pan-Determined" - or by being fully self-determined on all the dynamics you are actually being pan-determined. And then when you reach a new level of spiritual enlightenment you need to re-evaluate where you stand on all the dynamics in a new unit of time, which invariably will be more devout to Scientology. And every dynamic is in a condition of existence and every dynamic has a condition of existence in relation to every other dynamic. WTF? Do Scientologists ever sit down and ask themselves if the conditions and dynamics are all just crap? Hubbard said that part of having good control is also being able to be controlled. When did Hubbard ever let anyone or anything control him? His whole personal philosophy about how he governed his own life was not being the effect, not being controlled by anyone. It was Crowley's "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law." LRH embodied that belief in his Affirmations. It's a matter of court record. From all my experience with Scientology and according to my own observations I find myself come back to that as the original core inspiration for Hubbard.

To my thinking this is Satanism. Giving yourself over totally to someone else's will who doesn't give a damn about anybody or anything other than themselves and who uses spirituality as a hook.

I've told the story about the time I was walking down the sidewalk heading down N. Berendo from Sunset Blvd. toward LA Org when a group of about 6 demonstrators came toward me heading towards Sunset. I think they were done for the day and from their signs I guessed they were hard core like Seventh Day Adventists or something. I was in street clothes but I was wearing a necklace with a Theta symbol. One of the girls struck up a casual conversation and we were just chatting when the leader guy saw my necklace and yelled out, "You're one of those Theta things aren't you?!! You will have to die and be reborn in the eyes of the Lord to be saved!!" I said, "OK!, Thank You!, I got it!..bye!" they all started walking backwards toward Sunset, the head guy repeating the chant.

Now, you know, I think he may have been onto something.

It doesn't even succeed as a tool or path of enlightenment of the malevolent kind. If Hubs had said, "Okay, I'm gonna show you how to be an egotistic narcissist, free from all moral restraint. 'Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law,'" that would at least be honest; but scn doesn't even do that.

Instead it hides behind a facade of moral goodness, with a bunch of rules to follow and the goal of being able to do whatever you want deferred until some never-attained state of "OT." It's a lose-lose situation: a bunch of hoops to jump through for an eventual payoff that never comes. Kind of like Christianity in its worst form: "Okay, if I deny myself now -- deny myself sex, money, leisure, freedom of thought -- someday, maybe after I die, I can finally throw out all these restrictions and enjoy myself/do what I want."

I don't think it was always this bad. It got worse over time. In 1965 Hubbard "turned the brainwashing up to high," as someone (Veda, I think) put it. But it was always a con, never a valid path to enlightenment of any kind. The purpose of Dns and Scn from the beginning was the glorification and enrichment of L. Ron Hubbard. Any benefit to adherents purely incidental.

scientology is more along the lines of vanity enhancement. In some eastern beliefs vanity is one of the passions that give the mind control over the inner being becoming a hindrance to spiritual growth.

I know all these arguments. I studied Crowley's works for several years, long ago, when all his writings were available. (They are no longer) I even joined the O.T.O just to check it out. I know what you're saying, and I agree to an extent, and I've written about it, but - here, on this thread - I don't wish to go into that degree of nuance.

It's a bit like insisting that Charlie Manson wasn't really a murderer because he, himself, didn't actually murder anyone since he only brainwashed teenage girls and sent them out to murder. I don't want to argue about that either.

Crowley didn't call himself a Satanist, but he did adopt the name 'Beast 666' and he used it quite seriously, and Jack Parsons did write 'The Book of the Antichrist' and call himself 'Belarion Antichirst', and he wasn't being sarcastic.

Crowley, Parsons, and Hubbard all dreamt of destroying Christianity and replacing it with a belief system that gloried the ego. (In Hubbard's case, that at least glorified the ego initially before enslaving.)

    Call that what you want.

I would say Scientology's Founder was satanic . . . not the subject itself . . . though one might find some small parts that could be construed as such.

There is no doubt that Hubbard was satanic . . . he himself variously stated so, alluded to it and absolutely DEMONSTRATED IT!

But, of course, he again could have been deluding himself to think he was so utterly bad, evil and demonic. I mean, who but someone prone to delusions of grandeur would write that he "could make Hitler look like a punk!"

Well Scientology is certainly gnostic in sentiment, the whole "prison planet" thing with God as the warden. By I don't see any worship of evil in the theories of Scn.

Introduction to Ethics predates the Satanic Bible by a year, so I guess Tony Levy, like most new age leaders from Paul Twitchell to Eckhart Tolle, was exposed to Scn.

Upon reflection I don't think $cientology is satanic.
It's founder got inspired with satanic stuff, but only as a mean of manupulating people for his narcisstic and egoist deeds.

Actually, LRH was too a liar and greed to share the ''real, good stuff'' he found as to become powerfull using satanic stuff... :D
So he wouldn't have created a satanic cult. Hw as more looking for love and admiration flowed to hims by his cult followers who he appeared to be a mankind savior.

Always remember mainstream religions are what the leaders of those religions say it is. If there is a religion that says eating fish on Friday is good then eating beef on Friday is bad -- and enough of these arbitrary "bads" make you an evil person according to that religion's (arbitrary) dictates.

By the time you read this I will no longer be occupying the body and identity that you have known as Ron. That identity continues to live in the hearts and minds of many as well as in on-Source tech and admin centers around the planet, and will inspire for years to come Scientologists and lovers of truth everywhere.

What follows is a story that has been withheld, for reasons which will soon be obvious, until such time as there were enough OTs that something could be done about it. That time is now. It is not a nice or a pretty story, but I trust that having arrived on the OT VIII Course you are ready to hear it. You have undoubtedly heard pieces of data over the years that hinted at the greater untold reality of my mission here on Earth, but the story was never written, nor spoken, in its entirety due to security problems that have unfortunately always plagued the organization. It is only now that I feel it safe to release the information, although the time is rapidly approaching when I will have no choice in the matter, the hour draws that near.

I am not going to delve too deeply into specifics as people have a tendency to bog themselves down in significance, which would only serve to delay the immediacy of the task at hand. Therefore I will be brief.

Some eighty-odd million years ago Earth time (it actually dates at 78,395,042 but dates are a bit superfluous with this material) plans were drawn by a group outside the MEST universe for the eventual takeover of a good portion of this universe. Not a particularly large nor imaginative crew, their exterior perspective, however, gives them considerable advantage over the time-bound beings of the MEST universe. Borrowing from earlier operations such as Helatrobus, they conceived an ongoing implant, some portions of which have been fairly faithfully rendered in parts of the Bible. This implant, laid in by carefully controlled genetic mutation at Incident Two of OT III and periodically reinforced by controlled historic events since then, makes it effectively impossible for beings on the more heavily affected planets such as Earth to become free. It causes progressive genetic "evolution" that gives the subject population greater and greater susceptibility to the telepathic impingement and direction of the controllers. In its final stage the progression becomes almost geometric, and it is this final stage that we are rapidly approaching.
Another aspect of this GE-line implant is that the body becomes in effect a sort of theta trap that kicks in heavily on the being should he attempt to expand his horizons beyond that of pure physical universe reality. There can be temporary key-outs which we have all experienced in varying degrees, but until this area is handled it can honestly be said that there is no hope for continued expansion. The good news is that once this is run out, expansion becomes rather effortless and almost automatic.

No doubt you are familiar with the Revelations section of the Bible where various events are predicted. Also mentioned is a brief period of time in which an arch-enemy of Christ, referred to as the anti-Christ, will reign and his opinions will have sway. All this makes for very fantastic, entertaining reading but there is truth in it. This anti-Christ represents the forces of Lucifer (literally, the "light bearers" or "light bringer"), Lucifer being a mythical representation of the forces of enlightenment, the Galactic Confederacy. My mission could be said to fulfill the Biblical promise represented by this brief anti-Christ period. During this period there is a fleeting opportunity for the whole scenario to be effectively derailed, which would make it impossible for the mass Marcabian landing (Second Coming) to take place. The Second Coming is designed, among other things, to trigger a rapid series of destructive events.

With the exception of the original Buddhism, virtually all religions of any consequence on this planet, mono- and pantheistic alike, have been instruments to speed the progress of this "evolution of consciousness" and bring about the eventual enslavement of mankind. As you know, Siddhartha Gautama never claimed to be anything more than a man. Having caught on to this operation, he postulated his own return as Metteyya, part of which prophecy will have been fulfilled upon the passing of L. Ron Hubbard.

For those of you whose Christian toes I may have stepped on, let me take the opportunity to disabuse you of some lovely myths. For instance, the historic Jesus was not nearly the sainted figure has been made out to be. In addition to being a lover of young boys and men, he was given to uncontrollable bursts of temper and hatred that belied the general message of love, understanding and other typical Marcab PR. You have only to look at the history his teachings inspired to see where it all inevitably leads. It is historic fact and yet man still clings to the ideal, so deep and insidious is the biologic implanting.

It is a good joke that the Galactic Confederacy is associated with the Serpent in the Garden, the beast and other emissaries of the "Prince of Darkness". Yet in certain passages and esoteric interpretations of the Bible (much of which has been taken out and effectively suppressed for centuries) as well as the Cabbalah, the truth reveals itself quite nicely for the clever and the ungullible.

So it really is a race against time and one that we happen to be losing at the moment, as the implant drama inexorably plays itself out in spite of the breakneck pace I've managed to keep up these last thirty-five years.

I had an inkling, but only that, of the insidiousness of this material as far back as 1945. Later, in charcteristic over-optimism, I thought that R6 would be the end of it. But that was followed by NOTs and the Purification Rundown and still the string continued to unwind with the ball at the end of it just out of sight. It makes one wonder about such things as fate and destiny, such was the resolve with which I managed to cling to that string, not often knowing how close I was to falling into the abyss myself, but destiny is merely the rationalization of feeble minds. Things don't just happen, they are caused. And causative beings can undo the plans of madmen and would-be enslavers, no matter how long those plans may have been in the making.

I will soon leave this world only to return and complete my mission with another identity. Although I long to stretch my arms back in repose on some distant star in some distant galaxy, it appears that is one dream that will have to wait. But my return depends on people like you doing these materials thoroughly and completely so that there will be a genetically uncontaminated body for me to pick up and resume where I left off. A body free of religious mania, right/wrong dichotomy and synthetic karma. The job ahead is far too tough to even contemplate doing with your standard -- courtesy of certain other-dimensional players and their Marcab pieces, many of whom are right here in the general populace -- genetically altered body.

Without the biogenetic meddling of those who stand outside time (who cannot yet directly influence our world and must work through others) the dwindling spiral is not nearly as automatic and self-perpetuating as it appears. There are regions even in isolated parts of the Milky Way where poets are free to poet and magicians can paint reality with their magic wands and exteriorize without body kickback. But these areas unfortunately are fewer and fewer.

I will return not as a religious leader but a political one. That happens to be the requisite beingness for the task at hand. I will not be known to most of you, my activities misunderstood by many, yet along with your constant effort in the theta band I will effectively postpone and then halt a series of events designed to make happy slaves of us all.

So there you have it. The secret that I have kept close to my chest all these years. Now you too are part of this secret and I no longer have to shoulder the burden alone or live with the possibility of body death before all the data could be released. And with this briefing I entrust to each of you the responsibility for this material until such time as I am able to return. For we have no help from any other quarter in this matter. The handful of secret societies throughout history that have caught on to this game have long since fallen by the wayside or been taken over and become instruments of the very menace they were set up to combat.

The rundown is long and can be arduous, but it must be done thoroughly if there is to be any effect not only on the body of the pre-OT but the body of his or her progeny as well. There is some danger, but with OT VII thoroughly complete it is not nearly so great as the danger witnessed by assorted unfortunates who happened to stumble into this area in their sleep or in moments of reverie or anaten, experiencing an hitherto mysterious phenomenon known as "spontaneous combustion".

But the area is well charted, the rundown many years in secret development, and by the time you read this undoubtedly completed on myself. The wins awaiting you are like none that you have ever experienced, not just for you, but for your children, your children's children and the whole of mankind, if we succeed. And we will. If we had time we should pity the many poor souls, from 1950 to PT, who chose such an exactly inopportune moment to drop off the road to truth and disconnect from reality, the full burst and glory of OT practically within their grasp. But we haven't the time to "wax philosophic" or ponder might have beens.

The rundown follows. Again I say, do it thoroughly and completely, for it is your ticket to the stars. And beyond!

Scientology, as a practice, isolates an individual. It cuts them off of their dynamics and substitutes itself all the while claiming to do the opposite.

The same goes for ARC, god, anything spiritual, "cause", etc.

Nibs said it best. It's designed for the ego.

It's just the opposite of spirituality.

At the end everyday normal people become obsessed with money, power, "pr" (which is merely opinion), status, image and materiality.

The same for the siddhis. The focus on this detracts and keeps the spiritually naive from honest growth.

It's the "why" for the vacuous devotion of celebrities.

The fact that Satan isn't named (except as L Ron) or that Satanic rituals aren't knowingly performed just makes it that much more sinister.
