Quantum mechanics:

Quantum mechanics, also known as quantum physics or quantum theory, is a branch of physics providing a mathematical description of much of the dual particle-like and wave-like behavior and interactions of energy and matter.

Counterfactual definiteness

In some interpretations of quantum mechanics, counterfactual definiteness (CFD) is the ability to speak meaningfully about the definiteness of the results of measurements, even if they were not performed. (i.e., the ability to assume the existence of objects and properties of objects even when they have not been measured). More rigorously an interpretation of quantum mechanics satisfies CFD if it includes in the statistical population of measurement results, those measurements which are counterfactual due to being excluded by quantum mechanical constraints on simultaneous measurement of certain pairs of properties.

Then CFD is basically an ability to assume in a meaningful way, or be consistent in one's theorizing, without having to be consistent with some external datum.

Principle of locality:

In physics, the principle of locality states that an object is influenced directly only by its immediate surroundings. Experiments have shown that quantum mechanically entangled particles must violate either the principle of locality or the form of philosophical realism known as counterfactual definiteness.

In my opinion, the principle of locality is not correct. An object may be influenced most strongly by its immediate surroundings, but as long as it exists in the "field" of space it can be influenced by another object also existing in that "field" of space no matter how far.

Space is not nothing. Space is a manifestatin. It has properties that need to be researched fully. Space itself is that "ether" that has been long sought after. I believe that space precipitates as energy, and energy condenses as matter.

The conjecture that space may precipitate as energy (electromagnetic wave) is not part of any scientific theory so far.

Action at a distance:

In physics, action at a distance is the interaction of two objects which are separated in space with no known mediator of the interaction. This term was used most often with early theories of gravity and electromagnetism to describe how an object could "know" the mass (in the case of gravity) or charge (in electromagnetism) of another distant object.

The above makes sense when space is considered as a "fabric" and, thus, connects two objects at a distance.

Superluminal communication:

Superluminal communication is the term used to describe the hypothetical process by which one might send information at faster-than-light (FTL) speeds.

It appears that speed of light is a property of space. It is how fast a disturbance in the fabric of space may travel. A faster-than-light communication is possible only in a medium other than space.

Vinaire, have you considered just having your threads being made stickies so you don't have to keep bumping them into the top 10 ?

MATTER

Matter is anything that has mass and occupies volume

PROPERTIES OF SPACE
  • Provides basics of a structure (volume)
  • Three-dimensions, position, direction, extent
  • Speed of light
  • Wave-particle duality (two aspects of the same phenomenon)

PROPERTIES OF MASS
  • Provides basics of a structure (substance)
  • Inertia, gravity, acceleration, force, weight
  • Gravitational constant / Gravitational field
  • Inertial and gravitational mass are equivalent --> general theory of relativity

MASS

The primary manifestations seem to be SPACE and TIME.

MASS seems to result from the interaction of SPACE with TIME.

Inertia:

Inertia is the resistance of any physical object to a change in its state of motion or rest. It is represented numerically by an object's mass. The principle of inertia is one of the fundamental principles of classical physics which are used to describe the motion of matter and how it is affected by applied forces. Inertia comes from the Latin word, iners, meaning idle, or lazy. Sir Isaac Newton defined inertia in Definition 3 of his Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica, which states:

"The vis insita, or innate property of matter, is a power of resisting by which every body, as much as in it lies, endeavours to preserve its present state, whether it be of rest or of moving uniformly forward in a straight line."

Mass comes about as resistance to change occurs in space.

Being comes about as resistance to change occurs in awareness.

GOD is a massive being (joke... but it may be true).

A velocity cannot be perceived except through comparison (relatively). Thus, the state of rest is not absolute.

But inertia may provide a sense of an absolute state of rest. Inertia is measured by mass. It, therefore, seems that the more massive is something, the more it would be at rest.

AS A MASS APPROACHES AN INFINITE VALUE, IT MAY BE CONSIDERED TO APPROACH THE ABSOLUTE STATE OF REST.

Conversely, it seems

AS A MASS APPROACHES THE VALUE OF ZERO, IT MAY BE CONSIDERED TO APPROACH THE SPEED OF LIGHT.

Pure space is in the state of zero mass. It is characterized by speed of light (Is light same as space?)

A Black Hole is in the state of infinite mass. It is characterized by no motion (zero speed of anything).

A photon is approaching zero mass, but it has some mass. An interesting question is what is the difference in the nature of space inside a photon and outside a photon? What constitutes the boundary of a photon? Maybe it is some kind of a shock wave.

Mass seems to be a measure of the "density" of space.

Maybe the electromagnetic wave represents a disturbance traveling in space. As this disturbance becomes a shock it produces a boundary, such as that of a photon or electron.

As shocks pile up we get mass.

Space (zero mass) and Black Hole (infinite mass) are at two opposite ends of a spectrum.

Similarly, Nirvana (zero beingness) and God (infinite beingness) are also at two opposite ends of a spectrum.

Space and Awaremenss

A position is ultimately referenced from the point one is looking from.

This is how awareness interacts with space. In other words, space becomes a function of awareness.

Suppose a massive object is at rest relative to a viewpoint. Will a force be required to move that object away from that viewpoint? Well, it would depend on if there are other masses in that space influencing that mass.

If that massive object is the only mass in that space and there are no other masses influencing that object, then that mass may be pushed away from that viewpoint just as easily as that viewpoint can be pushed away from that mass. In other words, no effort would be required. Thus, force or effort comes into play when pushing away a massive object only because of the presence of other masses.
