I decided to come out of the closet. So Navy, my nickname for years all over the internet, will no longer be in use on his board. From now on, and thank you Emma for changing my account, I will write my postings under my real name which is Peter Schilte.
Some already knew my name, so now everybody knows!

Hi Peter. I'm Joe. Or 'asshole' or 'you moron' or whatever else seems appropriate :)

I won't say 'nice to meet you', since I already have... through your posts.

Those Navy closets are awfully small aren't they. :)

    Nice to meet you Peter.

    Good for you, Peter.

Every person who posts the truth under their real name makes it a bit easier for those still scared of CofS disconnections.

    Welcome Peter!!

    "Schilte"...

    Is that like the beer?

Beer? Well, I come, on my mother side, from a family of café-owners (café: beer, liquor, coffee, tea and soft drinks, like in a pub or a bar): my great grandmother started one in the early 20th century. But I never heard of "Schilte" beer. It is a very old Dutch word meaning "shield".

In the US, there is some very bad beer. But it's called "Schlitz". When I was 11 or 12 years old, I used to steal cases of it off my parent's back porch and drink it warm in the summertime with my friends.

We would run around and laugh, then feel sick and puke.

Glad to know that's not you. :)

    Welcome to the Internets, Peter!

Welcome to the Internets? I was one of the first to register here when Emma started this board!:D
Changing my name doesn't mean I became another person.:p

And I never heard of Schlitz. Lucky for me, I suppose. :coolwink:

Isn't this the first time in 3,562 posts you've signed your real name?

I'd hate to let the event pass unnoticed and force you to draw attention to it yourself. :)

Now what the last name, and where do you live? :D

He's disclosed that. It's not hidden. Neither you nor I post our last names with every post, but neither of us is anonymous here, Vinay.

At least, I know the last name. I think he posted the city, but I don't think it would be too hard to find.

Don't you lose all your posting stats if you change your name?:)

Not when you ask Emma politely to change your name behind the screens.

My dad used to put Schlitz out on the porch too so I wouldn't steal his beer. :coolwink:

    Hey! You're right!

The Falstaff was always in the kitchen refrigerator, while the warm Schlitz was always on the back porch!

    That bastard!
