Probably a true attestation of Clear is to walk out and never go back.

If you are clear, why would you need someone else's validation? My advice is 'be your own guru'.

    :welcome2: to ESMB, JerSolo!

Yeh, the cult of Scientology is certainly homophobic. Back in the 80s, when I was Dir I&R AOLA, I'd occasionally get sent someone who was having gay relations 'despite auditing'.

If it's not treated as an insanity in Scientology, it's treated as an out-ethics situation.

It's a cookie-cutter cult. Preferences? Differences? Not in Scientology! One Bridge for all, made up by a homophobic, ugly, psychotic loser of a dead man, L Ron Hubbard, who habitually confabulated stories of his amazing history and degrees that turned out false, and whose best actual learned skills were hypnosis and scamming others.

Good to have you here with the rest of us who see Scientology for the vicious nasty scam it is.

And about clear - of course you are clear! You always were. You don't need a bridge sold by a conartist to know that.

Welcome JerSolo - Glad to have yoiu here.

Please keep reading - there is much to know that was kept hidden from you and out of your view.

This "clear" confusion you are getting - IMHO - It is not because you are gay or not gay.

I believe you will find your answer by doing lots of research on what Scientology is and what it is not. You will know and understand completely. Welcome to EXSMB!! You have our support!

There have been a few 'first' clears, but the big one the one that really hit the headlines was a gay man, John McMaster. You would not be allowed to attest to clear being openly gay. When tech fails (your 'aberration' continued, ethics is out, you didn't turn straight so your ethics was out, that is their attitude.

Welcome onboard! the CO$ has become a joke of what it was and it never was what we thought it was. Its real agenda was not what we thought but the good people that get sucked into it made us think otherwise. Its agenda now a days is to keep being a money making machine and to sell people a piece of sky, but it gets harder and harder and it is more and more expensive. Scientology is frozen in the 1950's and has 0 tolerance of homosexuality, they pretend otherwise because they take your money and think they are going to cure you in the long run. It is Verboten to be a homosexual on the upper levels and being a homosexual luckily enough is a no no in the Sea Org, so if you are one, you don't qualify. There have been some great, caring, intelligent people in Scientology who were homosexual: John MacMaster who Hubbard used to call "the Pope of Scientology", Quentin Hubbard, who committed suicide after being unable to escape his father and the contradiction between what was expected from him and his desire to become a pilot, and Michael Pattinson, a great artist, OT VIII who was fair gamed utterly by OSA goons, disconnected from all his friends, bankrupted and sued by the "Church" and his old pals till they destroyed him. He managed to resuscitate though and has written on the INternet about his experience up the bridge and out of Scientology. Be true to yourself and "Do as thou wilt" (that is one of the rare Crowley-Hubbard quotes that are worthy).

I'm ashamed to say that back in the 70's in Texas I got my gay friend into $cn. after I'd been in for a few months.
Back then, at least at the Dallas cherch, they openly claimed they could "cure" gays.

It was a sorry assed situation, because Danny wanted to be "cured" simply because no one in his life would ever accept him the way he was.
NOT, because he couldn't have been perfectly happy just the way he was if society had allowed such a thing.

    So glad you escaped JerSolo!!

I have thought of another explanation for the cherch's forked tongue. Some staff have become members recently, they lived in the real world where gay actors, chat show hosts and rugby players are free to discuss their sexuality on TV with no one minding. Meanwhile execs and well trained staff got in decades earlier, before the AIDs epidemic, they saw people being outed and maybe remember the GO sending handsome young men to flirt with psychiatrists to trap them, so they could destroy the reputation of the profession and let the world know that some psychiatrists were 'perverts'. The western world has moved quite a long way in a few decades but long term cult members are still in the mindset of the decade they left the real world in.

Wow. It just occurred to me how much of a mind job it must be to view the literature about Scientology as someone who's been inside it. It did my head in and I've never been a Scientologist.

I'm not in any way discouraging you from finding out the truth. I'm just saying that you'll need friends. You're in the right place for that.

    Congratulations in getting out.

As you see it is safe to post without judgement on your private life. Yet at the same time a wide experience and multiple viewpoints on scientology itself exist here

The one thing that hasn’t been taken up is your clear origination on the NED DRD.

‘You know what you know’ is the absolutely vital point.

To put it simply, perhaps too simply; the church under Miscavige is wrong, most of what it does and says is wrong and it has a definite history of this concerning people’s clear cycles!

My own advice, and this is advice I have followed, is to get any cycle to do with auditing finished to your own satisfaction. Don’t let anyone put you off your original goal or doubt what you yourself know.

Outside the church you have freedoms, not just in your lifestyle, but that freedom means the right and ability to either neglect or follow whatever you feel you want or had set as important for yourself. The beauty, and at same time - the harsh reality, is no one will particularly hassle you or go out of their way to push you.

When I realized I was free from being at all dependent on what had become a nightmare, I contacted a blogger here called Terril Park, who is in touch with well trained people with thousands of hours of experience and will direct anyone who wants advice.

I contacted Terril and he recommended and personally knew an auditor for what I wanted, a very experienced Class VIII and I flew and he handled any past upset and I was on to my next major step super fast, in a hand full of hours – literally. This is what I personally went there hoping to achieve; it was spot on.

What was it like outside getting auditing? I was not sure what to expect. I found a pleasant environment with a nice lounge area, homely; lots of books, only about 5% had anything to do with scientology and also included all the main books written by people who had left the church.

Half of the PCs I have met have never been in the church. The Auditor regularly does cycles like yours; as I say it is not uncommon for the church these days to screw this cycle up for whatever reason...

No one will hassle you if you don’t want any more auditing. I found it amazing to just sit there and not have to talk to anyone. Sometimes there was someone else waiting to go in before me as things in other sessions had taken longer or the earlier person was late. Or perhaps when I came out there was the next person to go in. If you want to talk then you talk, but if not, then you don’t. But nothing else; no regging, no book-sellers, nothing, nothing... I found it unbelievable.

Also, no hint of evaluation or invalidation, I even met a psychologist who had had dianetics auditing and attested to clear and was continuing on... Yes, and you can move on to your OT levels and get audited NOTS etc. Everything. No unnecessary actions, no stops, no endless sec checks. No paying big bucks for crap.

It is really your call. There are many who have been really hurt and ripped-off by the so called ‘church’ who will never go back to auditing or training and would love to see the subject just fade away or worse.

As I say, you now have the freedom, not just to live as you want but to avail yourself of what you originally wanted. My only advice is that it would be so bitterly ironic not to do the things one hoped to do now that one finally can...

    Do well.

You are evaluating in that last paragraph. You are also tag-team pimping with Terril who, as far as I know, enjoys hubbard's mind hacking so much
he takes double helpings of OT3. IMO, trying to connect people who are recently out, to Terril is not a friendly thing at all, as you have painted it, with your "cosy living room," advertisement for auditors who hang out with Terril.

    Welcome Simply Revolting :)

Some background: Until 1978, Hubbard instructed that Clears could only be made by the 1965 Clearing Course. After 1978, in the wake of the 1977 FBI raids, Hubbard became worried about the reputation of Dianetics. (He was regressing to the time before he knew Mary Sue and, thus, had his attention on Dianetics making Clears, and on writing Science Fiction novels which, he had stated, in 1972, that he had no desire to do and with which he did not wish to be identified.) He was slipping backwards.

During 1978, Hubbard defined Clear down, and, according to former Case Supervisor David Mayo, did so for PR and marketing purposes.

    probably just as well.

Reading his first long post, after 5 years, is quite similar to reading Campbells letters to Heinlein, for which Campbell is trying to get Heinlein to believe in Hubbard's dianetics and "clear". But Heinlein wants more proof than just an essay and Campbells persuasion (Heinlein's own words), he wants to see the notes, the research.

I provided the links on the tread I started about Dean Wilbur & Hubbard, one has to read the Heinlein letters, which costs a few bucks, to get the picture, the full story line.

BTW, the poster is using Rhetoric, whether he/she is aware of it or not. LOL

And Hubbard used it and taught it, Rhetoric, unbeknown, to it's members that he was using Rhetoric.
