if you are interviewing John Travolta and he responds with his statement that Scientology has been beautiful to him, and why should he watch the doc based on the reports he has heard?
Please make him aware that the whole point of the documentary is that Scientology creates within its adherents a resistance to look beyond the church's own internal PR.
While it is wonderful he has had such a great experience with Scientology, what about those that have not?
As an A list actor, and thus a spokesperson for Scientology, wouldn't it be in Scientology's own interest to keep him in the dark about the less than savory issues the church has? Wouldn't they go out of their way to make his experience exemplary of their ideals?
Please ask him, as an opinion leader within the church, doesn't he have a greater responsibility to both the public at large, and the everyday Scientologist, to look beyond the pr, the statements by his handlers and see what is really going on?
Doesn't he have a responsibility to stand up for those whose experiences are less than ideal?
It is not about attacking Scientology, it's about correcting those aspects of it that are inappropriate.
Please ask him, when he is told the Doc has statements by his friend Spanky Taylor, and yet he refuses to watch the Doc, isn't he is shirking his responsibility to her and to the rest of us?

John Travolta says he has not seen Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief and has no plans to do so.
The actor and member of the Church of Scientology said he has not experienced any of the negative things depicted in Alex Gibney's documentary about the church.
"I haven't experienced anything that the hearsay has [claimed], so why would I communicate something that wasn't true for me?" Travolta said in an interview with The Tampa Bay Times. "It wouldn't make sense, nor would it for Tom (Cruise), I imagine."
He went on to say the church helped him through personal tragedies, including the death of his son Jett in 2009.
"I've been brought through storms that were insurmountable," he said, adding Scientology has "been so beautiful for me, that I can't even imagine attacking it."
