Tampa Bay Times: Operators of Scientology rehab center to open Clearwater halfway house
http://www.tampabay.com/news/scient...ter-to-open-clearwater-halfway-house-/2190139

Excerpt:
Operators of a drug rehabilitation center in Hernando County, which uses Scientology-affiliated Narconon treatments under intense scrutiny in several states, plan to open a 60-bed halfway house in Clearwater.

And they won't say why.

Longtime center treasurer Sean Strickling heads a company that paid $950,000 in May 2013 for a plot on Sunset Point Road in north Clearwater. Contacted this week by phone, he declined to be interviewed.

His wife, Tammy, the top officer at the Spring Hill Narconon, helped usher the project through Clearwater's permitting process. She too declined to comment.

Prominent Clearwater Scientologist Kurt Feshbach, who heads a company that owns the Hernando Narconon center, also did not respond to interview requests this week.

Because it's a $600,000 a month income using poorly paid former clients?

If any where near residential areas shit will hit the fan if rushed through permit process....

But we know all the rules were followed and no lies were told.

A quick 'net search lists the info for Narconon Spring Hill Inc. as 1390 Sunset Point Rd., Clearwater, FL 33755.
A records search for that address lists the owner of that property as Rehabilitation Initiatives LLC.

It is a church campus with a wooded area north of it. There are residences near it. Right now Sunset Point Rd. in front of the church is torn up and no traffic is allowed, but the east side is open. Here is a pic of the property from loopnet.

Tony Ortega has contrary information.

Narconon ‘halfway house’ in Clearwater? Not true, say our sources
http://tonyortega.org/2014/07/26/sc...-in-seven-lawsuits-against-its-rehab-network/

Excerpts:
Joe Childs has a new story at the Tampa Bay Times that finally, after two years, mentions the name “Kurt Feshbach” in relation to the ongoing fight over a Scientology rehab center in Florida’s Hernando County.
Childs says the former church is going to be turned into a “halfway house.”

That’s not what our sources tell us. We’re told that plans have been in place for more than a year to move the Narconon facility from Hernando County to Clearwater. In fact, the business offices of Narconon Spring Hill are already operating out of the former Baptist church, and the rest of the operation will move down once dorms and a sauna have been added to the facility.

So even as Scientology’s rehab fights for more money from Hernando County, it plans to ditch that location for Clearwater. (Something tells us Hernando County won’t be sorry to see them go, even if it does have to pay a larger damages award.)

What they are doing is starting out as a halfway house, which is not required to be licensed as a drug treatment facility. So they won't do withdrawals or sauna crap there. That will be done elsewhere, perhaps other facilities... even at Novus Detox, Feshbach's detox facility. Or it will be like repetition program without withdrawal or detox for those exiting his rehab, Narconon Spring Hill. Halfway houses are a transitional type program where the addict or alcoholic live, go to work and are required to attend meetins or aftercare programs once clen enough... to help them better prepare for life on the outside, drug/alcohol free.

So, while it may be true that they are opening a halfway house and then will proceed to get it licensed as a rehab facility, in part or full, at another time. Like when the community has accepted the halfway house program enough to not oppose it so much.

They are making a Narconon, called Suncoast Rehabilitation Center.
